Sachham Scholar Program  
A bridge to adult life

In close cooperation with the local staff of Sachham and the local schools, the association supports those children and young people who lack the financial support of their families to graduate from school after the 10th year of school (SLC, School Leaving Certificate). The local institutions know the living conditions of the children and their families best.  The people in charge of these institutions or the parents pass on their information to Sachham so that our local staff can take action on site.

Sachham supports these children and young people by covering school fees, school materials and uniforms as well as accommodation where necessary. In addition, Sachham has set up help for medical and health care during the past difficult months of the lockdown.

The children and young people are supported by Sachham staff in all matters relating to school and further education and/or vocational training.

Sachham also works closely with various education and training centers in Kathmandu to find the best possible follow-up solutions for the young people.
Sachham staff organize suitable accommodation for trainees and students without a home of their own.

We are currently supporting 69 children and young people as part of the Scholar Program.
